What a day! We got Kate at 4:50 yesterday afternoon and she is perfect! All ten fingers and toes. She seems to be in good health; maybe a slight fever, but everyone is sleeping right now (it's 2am).
She cried when they gave her to us, and continued to whale for about an hour. She and I are bonding great and she don't mind Brian holding her!! She has yet to go to grandpa, I think the beard scares her! Kate loves to hear him talk, she even looks at him. (she wouldn't look at any of us the first hour)
We tried to give her a bottle, but she wasn't really into it. They say that is normal, we'll try again this morning. We gave her a bath before bed and that was a big hit. Bed time though was a challenge. She finally went down in her crib after many rounds of twinkle twinkle. I sure could use Olivia with her Itsy Bitsy Spider song!
We have a busy day ahead of us. Today is know as paperwork day. We spend the morning filling out paperwork and filing it with the government. Funny, I thought we've been doing that for three years!
Our travel group is very nice, they are all almost old enough to be our parents. Not quite, but we are known as the kids around here. Dinner last night was in our room... Pizza Hut! Not the same as at home, but very tasty. I will try to up load photos when I can see better, trying to move around in the dark is harder then I thought.
Love you all
Heather

Heather and Brian-Our family is soooo excited for you and your newest addition!!!! Kate is from the same province as Teah!!! We stayed at the Gloria too!!! We have been thinking of you every step of the way and we have sweet Kate's pictures in our kitchen (Jen gave us a pic and keeps me updated!). God Bless you and can't wait to squeeze Kates cheeks in person-she is amazing!!! Have an incredible journey in China! Together at last, Together Forever!!! Love, Caroline Rogers and Family
Jen told me that Kate is not taking the bottle! Teah did the same thing and our social worker told us to make the hole in the bottle nipple a little bit bigger, so the formula comes out faster. Also make sure the formula is the Chinese formula and make it pretty warm the way she is used to. After a few days, we started adding half of our formula we brought with the chinese formula and slowly worked her off of the chinese formula (it has alot of sugar in it). Not sure if this will work for you, but thought is was worth a try!
Peace, Caroline
